Best Period Underwear for Sleeping 2024

19 September 2024  |  Admin

If you're a regular reader of our blog, you're already familiar with how we source our content ideas. Sometimes we're inspired by social media feedback, but often also by customer reviews on Trustpilot. This is one such example.

We recently received this fantastic review from Sarah, who shared her experience with our 'Cosy' Bamboo Period Shorts:

'Life changing. I'm actually mad it took me so long to get on board. I have PCOS and always had heavy periods, regular pads/tampons of the highest absorbency were never leak proof, constantly leaking, I wouldn't sleep during my period as I was always uncomfortable and worried about leaking in my sleep.

Not anymore! These period shorts are amazing, they're comfortable, the absorbent part is quite literally from front to back and nice and wide. Being recently diagnosed with a heart condition that requires me to be on blood thinners for life, my periods were out of control/unmanageable, constant flooding for longer than a week.

I can't describe the elation of getting into bed completely comfortable and secure knowing I won't leak or be dashing to the toilet multiple times a night. I was worried about the feel of these, smells etc...I can confidently say they're amazing, they don't feel wet on the surface so no uncomfortable feeling of being sat in blood, there's no odour and no sweating from an unbreathable pad. If you're skeptical I say give it a go, they may just change your life.'

Our journey at Team Cheeky began with the launch of our bestselling cloth wipes kit in 2008 when I was pregnant with baby number three.

After having my fourth child, I realised that internal period products were not the best choice for me. This led to the creation of our reusable period and incontinence product line.

Initially, we launched reusable period pads about a decade ago but followed them quickly with Cheeky Pants for periods and incontinence.

One of the biggest benefits of reusable pads and period pants is their comfort. This is especially important at night when a good sleep is essential. Period pants made for overnight use are designed to handle heavy flows. They can absorb for 8 to 10 hours.

That's why the most critical factor to consider when choosing period pants for sleeping is the extent of their absorbency. We don't believe that designs that only include absorbency in the gusset are suitable for overnight use.

Why? Because movement during sleep is inevitable. Based on customer feedback, we redesigned our period pants to ensure that absorbency goes from the front to the back waistband in most of our styles.

We're also mindful of the safety of menstrual products and for that reason no Cheeky products contain PFOS, PFAS or antimicrobial silver.

Since you have access to the same internet resources we do, we made a list of the best period underwear for sleep 2024:

Below, we compare a range of period underwear options available in Australia, including these standouts, to ensure you get the perfect match for your needs.

Easy wash, they last for ages.'
